Enjoy this wonderful opportunity to see the Swiss Alps up close and personal with an exclusive Day Dreaming Quests Tour. We will spend one night in Zurich, to shake off the jet lag, then off to Wengen to settle in for the remainder of the tour at one hotel. This tour promises to deliver dramatic scenery and fresh air from the highest mountain ranges in Europe! Most of the tour will be enjoyed from rail cars - not a motor-coach. As a wonderful bonus, we will spend seven nights in the same hotel to provide a more relaxed overall experience.

Following an overnight flight, we will spend a day of leisure in Zurich, giving us an opportunity to acclimate to the time change. Then, we plan to make our way by motor-coach to Bern, the capital city of Switzerland. Bern is a UNESCO historic site featuring cobblestone streets under medieval arches making it one of Europe's most picturesque cities. Among the sites to enjoy in Bern is the Rose Garden, one of the most beautiful parks in the city offering unrivaled views over the rooftops of the historic Old Town. Once we have been introduced to impressive and historic Bern, we say
goodbye to cities as our travels continue to the Swiss Alps arriving in Lauterbrunnen, where we will board a cog railway to the alpine village of Wengen - home for the next six nights. Wengen is a post-card worthy village located in the Jungfrau region. It is surrounded by massive mountains, green meadows, and forests. But... something is missing. Like other villages on this tour, Wengen doesn't have cars!!
Our journey continues with another cog railway excursion to the glacier-carved Lauterbrunnen Valley where a cable car will climb up to Gimmewald, a small traffic-free village in Bernese Overland. Then, off to Murren for some leisure time to enjoy hiking paths surrounded by bell-ringing cows, waterfalls and wildflowers. You may choose to take the funicular to Allmendhubel where a cable car will lift us to Piz Gloria featuring a revolving restaurant at the summit where part of the James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service was filmed.

Next, off to explore the resort village of Grindelwald by cog railway. Europe's longest cable car will provide thrilling transportation to "Summit in First" to an altitude of 7,600 feet. A vintage cog-rail will escort us to incredible views up to Schynige Platte to see mountain peaks soaring to 6,800 feet. Then, a relaxing cruise across turquoise blue Lake Brienz. Rothorn is waiting as we climb impressive heights via the Brienzer Rothorn Steam Train. The scene is a peaceful sight as we watch cows grazing through alpine meadows with the majestic Alps as a backdrop.

If a lazy and free day in Wengen doesn't provide enough adventure, you may join an optional day trip to Zermatt; situated at the foot of the Matterhorn - one of the world's most famous mountain peaks. Zermatt provides several options for you: you may have lunch in a ski lodge and stroll through luxury boutique shops, or weather permitting, you can choose to ride the cog-wheel railway to the Gornergrat. The adventure continues as we travel to Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge to see waterfalls, natural whirlpools and fantastic rock formations. After seeing the 600 feet deep Aare River Gorge, travel continues to the village of Meiringen, home of the tasty Meringue and the site of Sherlock Holmes' final case. Free time will allow an opportunity to visit the Holmes Museum or try a Meringue at a nearby cafe. Afterwards, a panoramic Express Train will escort us along Lake Brienz to Interlaken.

Today, we will board the motor-coach for the first time in several days to visit one of the most scenic streets in Europe the Brunngassee in Brienz which will include a visit to a local wood carving shop. Then, travel over Brunig Pass to the geographical heart of Switzerland to Lucerne. So much adventure in only a few days... we hope you will join us!

If you prefer big, noisy cities... this trip is not for you.
However, if you prefer an atmosphere of
serenity, and dramatic scenery....
This trip IS for you!
